INTERACTING WITH
OKLAHOMA OFFICE OF HOMELAND SECURITY
COFT regularly works
with the training staff at the Oklahoma Office
of Homeland Security. We also incorporate their
relevant objectives into COFT programs.
For example, one of their
federal responsibilities revolves around the
National Incident Management System [NIMS] and
assuring that the firefighters (and others) take
this important training.
In support of this, COFT
provides a monetary incentive by rewarding those
volunteer firefighters who take this training as
a portion of their higher level of the $400
Firefighter Training Tax Credit. Other
Homeland Security-related courses, such as
Hazardous Materials or other Weapons of Mass
Destruction training, can also be counted for
this program.
In addition, their Director
for Exercises and Training plays an active role
in many of the Council On Firefighter
Training's special committees. This
includes the Training Task Force. In
support of this, COFT provides a monetary
incentive by making this training a pivotal
point in receiving the higher $400 firefighter
training tax credit. |
