2009 Tax Credit Program - Discussion
Volunteer Firefighter Tax Credit Programs:
1. Form 1A $200
- For any volunteers applying for the 1st time** in 2009
- For any volunteers who have been previously approved for the $200, have not completed but are working towards the Volunteer Firefighter Practices Program (VFFP) or Equivalent Program and have earned at least 6 hours of continuing education towards the completion of VFFP or Equivalent Program by December 31, 2009
AND
- Who is a member in good standing with his/her volunteer fire department.
** A 1st time applicant needs 12 hours of eligible training, as listed on the 2009 Form 1A Equivalency Chart, taken in any previous years.
2. Form 1B $400
- Volunteers who were previously approved for a $200 tax credit
AND
- Who have completed VFFP or Equivalent Program and are working towards FFI and have taken at least 6 hours of continuing education towards FFI by December 31, 2009
AND
- Who is a member in good standing with her/his volunteer fire department and has complied with local, state, and federal mandates for 2009.
3. Form 1C $400
- Volunteers who were previously approved for a $200 tax credit
AND
- Who have completed FFI certification (must have previously submitted a FFI certificate)
AND
- Who is a member in good standing with her/his volunteer fire department and has complied with local, state, and federal mandates for 2009.
