The current Training Tax Credit requires ADVANCED approval!

   ONLY Volunteer Firefighters in good standing during the tax year in question can currently participate.

   Applications for 2005, 2006 and 2007 are currently available online.  Press the Sherlock Tax Credit Programs button to access the applications. 

   Volunteer Firefighters must fill out the forms, have their Fire Chief sign them, and mail them into COFT.  These applications will be processed which typically takes 2-3 weeks. Then, the original application which has been approved will be mailed back to the Firefighter.  You will recognize an approved form by the red circular State Seal in the lower right corner of the application.

Remember 2008
is the last year
to retroactively
apply for 2005.

If the Firefighter retroactively applies and is approved...
then they must do an amended return for that tax year.
